About Me

03/05/2024

Only a few weeks after creating this website and beginning my business in 2023, I got diagnosed with Late stage Hodgkin's Lymphoma at 24. I went through several surgeries and chemotherapy from August-December of that year until I was officially deemed in complete remission. It was the hardest thing I had ever gone through, and I had to halt my business because I barely had the strength to brush my teeth, let alone, sadly, to create any art. It broke my heart and I had no idea when my energy for my passion and my flame would return, if ever. I'm very happy and excited to say that I am officially back to art and feeling very healed from chemotherapy after taking a few months to myself. Since treatment, butterflies have developed a whole new meaning for me in regards to death and rebirth, in good luck and in transformation. If you are reading this, thank you so much for being here at the return of g makes things!

One day in early September of 2022, I found a perfectly intact red spotted admiral butterfly on the ground by my house. I had never seen such a beautiful butterfly before and decided I wanted to try pinning for the first time to preserve its beauty. I loved it so much I decided to turn it into a hobby, and that hobby has now become part of my business! I love that I get to learn about and discover new butterflies everyday and am so excited to share my butterflies and all that I have learned about them with you.

Though butterflies came into my life recently, I have been making art for as long as I can remember. I obtained a degree in Exercise Science in 2021, which is still another one of my passions, but it was clear after graduating that I wanted to dedicate my life to creation and art, especially as a means of sustainability. I also work with various other mediums including jewelry, paper making, mosaics, and anything where I can take something old and make it new- both for the sake of the Earth, and because it’s fun!
