Shadow Boxes

Sometimes butterflies come to me damaged with broken wings or bodies, and aren't in a good enough condition to be placed in a shadow box. Or, every so often, I will make a mistake and tear a wing, also leaving the butterfly too compromised for a box. However, even though they have been damaged, they still hold so much beauty and I could never dream of discarding a butterfly because of some "imperfections." That is when they end up here, snug between the glass and the backing of a picture frame where they cannot endure anymore harm ♥
